Class of 1972
Reunion, June 8 & 9, 2007
Our 35th reunion (yes, can you believe it?) is upon us. The Ladycliff College
Alumnae Luncheon is June 9 th at the West Point Club. You should have received
details for that by mail already. If not, please check on the Ladycliff College
website. The class of '72 is planning its 35 th reunion to coincide with the
annual Ladycliff luncheon to be held June 9th.
Today Alicia Packey Winowsky and I visited all the motels along the road from
Fort Montgomery to Highland Falls. Only two of them had any rooms available for
the dates we needed. The Thayer is sold out. The Econo Lodge had some rooms
available and so did the West Point Motel whose rooms were of a nicer quality.
After visiting the rooms at both places, we chose to reserve a block of rooms
(all non-smoking because the smoking rooms have all been reserved already) at
the West Point Motel for Friday, June 8 th and Saturday June 9th. The room rates
(include a continental breakfast that is not a sit down affair: bagels or
muffins, hot beverage and juice) are $134.08 per night for a double- all taxes
and breakfast included (two queen beds), or $145.97 for three or four people
(sharing the two queen beds in each room). No cots are available to be added to
the rooms.
If you would like to reserve a room, please call the West Point Motel directly
at 1-888-349-6788 by May 2 nd and be prepared to leave a credit card number.
After May 2nd , the rooms not reserved will be released to the general public on
a first come, first served basis . Don't delay; since the other motels are
already all booked up, these rooms will move fast.
If you can come, please plan to arrive on Friday around 6 p.m. I will be
negotiating with Pineapple's Steak House to plan a dinner for us starting at
6:30 p.m. Saturday morning after breakfast at the motel, those who would like
can choose to attend the 9 a.m. Ladycliff mass at Sacred Heart. After that,
Highland Falls Historian, Stella Bailey, has agreed to open up the Ladycliff
Room so that we can visit her vast collection of Ladycliff yearbooks and
memorabilia. Lunch will be served at noon at the Officer's Club. Alicia and I
met with the mayor of Highland Falls today and he has graciously arranged for us
to have a large room all to ourselves in the rear of his liquor store and
adjoining deli/pizza parlor for Saturday night at 6 p.m.. There we will have a
pizza party with wine.
As you can imagine, to plan all of this we would like to know who is coming,
when you plan to arrive, where you will be staying and what meals you would like
to take with us.
Please let us know as soon as possible what arrangements you have made. I can be
reached by e-mail at reginelambrech@gmail.com or by phone at (203) 746-1074. .
We look forward to seeing everyone and ask you to bring your old photographs,
yearbooks and other memorabilia to share with all of us.
Please feel free to call with any questions. Alicia will be mailing out a letter
tomorrow to all those who have not provided e-mail addresses to me. Please feel
free to call anyone and get the message out to them.
